Summary
Her interests lie in marine community ecology and the impact of global change on community structure. She also has a strong interest in conservation and management applications of research, understanding that both are most effective with a strong scientific basis for action. In the future, she looks forward to pursuing a career of research and policy. As a Knauss Sea Grant Fellow, she currently works as the Environmental Policy Specialist in the Office of Polar Programs at the National Science Foundation. During her service as a Knauss Fellow, Emily has been continually reminded of the need for sound scientific advice in all levels of policy decisions.
