News of our students and graduates
2007 IGERT Cohort write science columns for San Diego Union Tribune
Elisa Maldonado recieved a 2008 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship. Congratulations Elisa!
MAS Graduate, James Broesch,
received ESI 2008 Seed Funding for his documentary film The
Artisnal Fisher. The film has been selected by the American
Conservation Film Festival (ACFF) for screening at this year's
festival, scheduled for November 6-9, 2008, in Shepherdstown,
West Virginia. For the fifth consecutive year, ACFF is bringing
thought provoking cinema to the Mid-Atlantic region while
inspiring discussion about how we better understand our own
environment, understand each other, and help the communities we
are buildi ng today. With more than 100 submissions, the field
was highly competitive, and CMBC is pleased to congratulate James
for having his work selected.
Congratulations to Sarah Glaser . Sarah is now engaged to be married to Cullen
Hendrix. Cullen proposed earlier this year when Sarah was
diving in the aquarium kelp tank. See: Marriage Proposal Under the Sea
